Installation of Chemical Process Equipment - Belle Chase, LA
|
The Client had developed a proprietary Chemical Process for producing their well drilling mud additives and needed to expand their production capability. They had located and acquired major equipment components and needed system design and fabrication drawings. Fairwinds International was asked to bring Structural Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Drafting disciplines together to facilitate a timely and cost effective design of the required facilities installation. Fairwinds implemented the Client’s proprietary process with Process Flow, Mechanical, Electrical and piping design. In addition, a support structure that provided the required liquid "head” in the vessels was designed. Special considerations had to be made for this elevated structure to integrate it into the existing buildings to optimize the batch handling of raw materials. The Electrical and Instrumentation requirements were designed to compliment and interface with existing MCC and DSC systems. Results: The Client installed the upgrade with minimal disruption to ongoing operations and within the budgeted cost. The finished facility encompassed convenience of operation with a focus on plant safety.
